Oni Foundation Named in Three Best of Maui Categories - Vote For Us!

We have exciting news to share with our ʻohana: Oni Foundation's Wonderful World of Aloha Cultural Activity Center has been nominated in three Arts & Entertainment categories in The Maui News Best of Maui 2026–27 contest. We're up for Best Cultural Program, Best Live Theater and Best Museum.
Best of Maui is the community's chance to celebrate the local businesses, venues and organizations that make our island special. Nominations came from the public, so being named in three categories means people across Maui have experienced our classes, performances and exhibits and wanted to recognize them. That means the world to us. Mahalo to everyone who nominated us!
Now we need your help to bring it home. Voting is open now through Saturday, October 18, and you can vote once per category, every single day until voting closes.
Vote for us in all three categories:

Our hands-on classes invite visitors and residents of all ages to take part in Hawaiʻi's living traditions. Learn hula, Tahitian and Korean drumming or ukulele, or craft a lauhala, ti leaf or kukui nut bracelet with our cultural practitioners.

Our costume museum tells the story of migration to Hawaiʻi through artifacts, instruments and costumes. Recent additions include a rare Filipino Hagabi bench and a Portuguese Madeira flower vendor's costume.

Migrations, our multicultural dance spectacular, brings the dances of Hawaiʻi, Tahiti, the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Spain and Mexico to the stage. It celebrates the many peoples whose journeys shaped the Hawaiʻi we know today.

Why your vote matters
Oni Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with one mission: to perpetuate the multicultural heritage of Hawaiʻi through dance and arts. Every class we teach, every show we stage and every costume we display keeps these traditions alive and shares them with the next generation.
A Best of Maui win helps more residents and visitors discover our center at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center. More visitors means more support for our cultural practitioners, our youth programs and our growing museum collection. The contest's winners and finalists will be announced on January 14, 2027.
